Controller to Popular Luxury Fitness Brand / in New York, New York

We are seeking a highly professional Controller to support our client a luxury fitness brand with studios, e-commerce, and virtual classes. This Controller will oversee financial reporting, maintain accurate records, and drive operational excellence. This hands-on role requires expertise in QuickBooks, revenue reconciliation, and financial process improvement. The ideal candidate thrives in complexity, takes ownership of financials, and implements efficiency-driven solutions. Industry: Health & Wellness / Fitness

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage general ledger and accounting processes in QuickBooks
• Ensure timely monthly closes and accurate financial statements
• Reconcile Stripe, WooCommerce, and MindBody revenue data
• Partner with leadership on revenue recognition and expense categorization
• Develop internal controls and optimize retail accounting operations
• Work with external accountants for tax compliance and annual filings
• Identify automation and process improvements
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of accounting experience, including 4+ years as a Controller
• QuickBooks Online expertise (custom reports, reconciliations)
• Experience with e-commerce and multi-channel revenue reporting
• Familiarity with Stripe, WooCommerce, MindBody, and financial integrations
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience in fitness, wellness, or subscription-based businesses is a plus

Reports To: Chief Operating and Revenue Officer

Compensation: Up to $200K + benefits

Location: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the Hamptons or Manhattan, NY
