Domestic Couple for Private Property / in New York , New York

A private UHNW family is seeking a highly experienced Domestic Couple to assume full operational stewardship of their estate in upstate New York. This opportunity is best suited for seasoned professionals with deep experience in UHNW environments and a shared commitment to excellence, discretion, and long-term service. This is a senior-level position intended for two professionals who function as a true partnership and bring a shared commitment to excellence, discretion, and long-term service. The successful couple will demonstrate a proven track record working together in UHNW private homes or estates and will take pride in maintaining a property to exacting, luxury standards through a combination of hands-on care, proactive oversight, and intuitive service.

For the right candidates, the family is also open to splitting this role into two separate positions - one focused on interior household management and housekeeping, and one focused on property maintenance and building support.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain museum-level cleanliness and organization throughout the residence
• Perform daily housekeeping and oversee periodic deep cleaning
• Care for fine furnishings, delicate materials, and specialty finishes
• Manage laundry, linens, and household organization systems
• Maintain detailed inventories of household supplies and personal items
• Ensure the home is always principal-and guest-ready
• Take primary ownership of the physical integrity and functionality of the estate
• Perform hands-on carpentry, building, and repair work, including:
  • Woodwork and finish carpentry
  • Basic construction projects
  • Drywall, patching, painting, and trim work
  • Doors, windows, fixtures, and hardware repair
• Perform light electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs as appropriate
• Conduct routine inspections of all structures, systems, and grounds
• Execute preventative maintenance and proactively address issues
• Coordinate, supervise, and hold vendors and contractors accountable
• Daily interior and exterior walkthroughs to assess priorities
• Maintain vehicles at concierge-level standards (servicing, detailing, registration)
• Provide driving and errand support as requested
• Support the estate during principals’ arrivals, departures, and extended stays
• Operate with absolute discretion, professionalism, and service mindset

Requirements: 

• Proven experience in UHNW private residences or estates
• Strong carpentry and building skills required for the property-focused role
• Solid working knowledge of estate systems and vendor oversight
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record
• Clean background check with long-term, verifiable references

The ideal candidate(s):

• Bring 10+ years of UHNW private estate experience
• Demonstrate excellence in either interior household management or building / carpentry / property maintenance
• Are proactive, self-directed, and prideful in craftsmanship and execution
• Understand that no task is too large or too small
• Are flexible, reliable, and long-term oriented
• Operate with discretion, loyalty, and professionalism

Schedule: Monday through Friday, with flexibility for additional hours when the family is in residence

Compensation: Up to $250K+, healthcare coverage, PTO, 401K

Location: Upstate, NY (4 hours from NYC)
