Caring & Communicative Nanny / in San Francisco, California

A private family is seeking a Rotational Nanny (open to Lead or strong non-Lead) to provide thoughtful, relationship-driven care within a dynamic household. This role is ideal for a candidate who embodies emotional intelligence, strong communication, and a child-centered approach rooted in respect, autonomy, and developmental awareness.

 

The position blends high-level caregiving with operational ownership, requiring someone who can create structure, maintain organization, and proactively support the children’s daily lives. The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, and the ideal candidate is adaptable, polished, and confident taking initiative while working closely with parents and staff. Familiarity with RIE/Montessori is a plus.

 

Key Responsibilities

Childcare & Development:

• Provide attentive, developmentally aligned care rooted in respectful, child-centered philosophies (RIE, Montessori)

• Support routines including sleep, meals, hygiene, and transitions

• Encourage independence, emotional regulation, and positive communication

• Supervise play, outings, and daily activities

Household & Operational Support

• Maintain organization of children’s spaces, clothing, and supplies

• Manage packing, travel prep, and inventory for children

• Plan and support creative and educational activities

• Prepare meals/snacks and assist with light household tasks related to the children

Collaboration & Communication

• Partner closely with parents and household staff

• Maintain clear, proactive communication

• Anticipate needs and execute with strong attention to detail

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional childcare experience (flexible for strong non-lead candidates)

• Alignment with respectful caregiving philosophies (RIE, Montessori, etc.)

• High emotional intelligence and strong communication skills

• Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented

• Collaborative, team-oriented mindset

• Valid driver’s license and work authorization

• CPR/First Aid certified; able to pass background check

• Must be cat friendly
   

Location: San Francisco, CA

 

Compensation & Benefits: 55-75/hr DOE, Health insurance, 401(k), PTO, sick days, paid holidays

 

Schedule: Rotational, 12 hour days
