Full-time Housekeeper / in Los Angeles, California

A private family in Brentwood, CA is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Housekeeper to join their household team. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience working in formal private residences, preferably within a fully staffed household, and will be reliable, discreet, and comfortable working in a busy home where the principals are frequently in residence. This is a long-term opportunity for a polished household professional who takes pride in maintaining a well-organized home. The role requires a strong eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to balance meticulous cleaning with a significant amount of laundry and clothing care. 

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain an approximately 8,000 square foot, two-story private residence, including the basement laundry area
• Perform detailed daily cleaning to a mid-formal standard, including care of substantial artwork, silver, and delicate glass pieces
• Handle extensive laundry, including washing, folding, pressing, and clothing care
• Manage packing and unpacking and provide particular attention to the male principal's clothing
• Keep the kitchen clean and reset throughout the day, including dishes, dishwasher loading, and mopping after dinner service
• Work comfortably around the family's chef, who prepares lunch and dinner Wednesday through Sunday and uses a significant amount of cookware
• Provide full household support when the family is in residence, including during visits from grown children, grandchildren, nannies, guests, and dogs
• Maintain the home during periods when the family is away, with a lighter workload during the May through September off-season
• Work collaboratively with the existing household team, including the second housekeeper, houseman, house manager, chef, and household manager
• Handle greater independent responsibility on weekends when fewer members of the household team are present

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a professional housekeeper in a private home
• Strong cleaning skills with experience maintaining a mid-formal or formal household
• Comfortable caring for delicate artwork, glass, and valuable household furnishings
• Extensive laundry experience and strong clothing-care skills
• Comfortable working around children, grandchildren, guests, dogs, and a busy household
• Highly reliable, discreet, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
• Able to work independently while also functioning well as part of a larger household team
• Comfortable working evening hours, including after-dinner kitchen cleanup
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Compensation: $50/hr. + benefits

Schedule: Wednesday through Sunday, approximately 10 a.m.–8 p.m.; some evenings may run until approximately 8:30 p.m. Some flexibility with start times may be available for the right candidate, particularly Wednesday through Friday and potentially on weekends. During the family's May–September absence, the workload is lighter, with approximately three days of actual work during a five-day paid week.
